VivoBook S400 notebook comes in a 14 inches multi-touch screen display monitor, far from the early version of touch screen asus vivobook which are 11.6 incher. However, their is also a romurs about a 15 incher of this vivobook model of asus, be available soon.

VIVO Book ASUS S400 Ultrabook design

The Asus vivobook S400 comes in dark brushed aluminum lid, nearly alike with ASUS N56VZ vivobook, however, asus vivobook S400 is smaller and thinner than ASUS N56VZ. Pop the lid of vivobook S400, a matte aluminum surface contrasting the black keyboard will stun you.

The Asus vivobook S400 14 inches HD Slim LED Backlit multitouch display screen display monitor with 1366×758 resolutions supports multi-touch finger gesture.

The panel of ASUS S400 Ultrabook Laptop comes glossy where user got nice crisp, vibrant colors with deep black as a result. However, unlike samsung laptops, the ASUS S400 Ultrabook brightness is just average so readability under the sun is a bit poor.

Like an average and regular notebooks, ASUS S400 Ultrabook top display is a place of it's decent 720p HD webcam that delivers user a bright and clear video, perfect for online conferences and conversation with family, friends, work coluege and more.

As for ports, the Asus S400 notebook comes with USB 3.0 port, HDMI, VGA, Ethernet and power input that house on the right side of Vivobook S400 ultrabook. On the left side of Asus S400 houses the Kensington lock slot, two USB 2.0 ports, and a headphone and mic combo port plus the SD card reader.

However, unlike other notebook, Asus S400 do not offer a feature called sleep and charge, meaning with Asus S400 you cannot re charge your other electronic devices when the Asus S400 laptop is turned off.

Keyboard and Touchpad

The VivoBook S400 keyboard introduces as a conventional laptop keyboard from early dates, which unlike other ultrabook keyboard design, Asus S400 comes with no backlit keyboards and its layout seems standard for 14-inch notebook.

The large touchpad is very responsive and doesn’t give me unnecessary mouse jumps while typing on the keyboard. It supports 3-finger gestures as well as swipes from the the outside to bring out some Windows 8 menus.

Audio and Sound system

Like other and most current ASUS laptops and early Asus notebook models, Asus S400 Vivobook comes with an exclusive ASUS SonicMaster audio technology that crystal clear, and impactful audio with deep bass at a wide range. Perfect sound will delivers while watching movies, playing games, and listening to music.

Performance

VivoBook S400 Notebook comes with an Intel Core i5-3317U at 1.7GHz internal clock speed processor that goes up to 2.6GHz with Intel’s TurboBoost technology. To delivers great user experience, ASUS S400 Notebook core i5 processor from intel is supported by 4GB RAM system memory and a 24GB SSD for caching that allows fast boot plus he 500GB of hard disk storage. However, S400 Notebook is lacking of a dedicated GPU. It means that VivoBook S400 is not made for heavy gaming, or gaming with high settings, hard core gamers, graphics artists, and designers wont love S400 Asus ultrabook.

But as I tried Asus S400 Notebook can handle my portable or light Photoshop software and I can able also some casual games, such as Generals Command and Conquer, but S400 Notebook comes so laggy. Also, with Asus S400, I did experience occasional stuttering while surfing the net, browsing on MPDHall.com(approving comments and deleting spams)

From a cold start Asus S400 Notebook boots at 30 seconds. The SSD helped in keeping the resume time from standby really quick (2-3 seconds) and boosts application launch time.

Touch Screen Laptop, Notebook, or Ultrabook Experience

Like regular smartphone's and tablet, touch screen laptops is more likely like that. In the first tapping your screen, moving files from place to place gives you a very exciting feeling with your laptop. However, I a long process, after an hour, you will wish not buying his stuff, I won't give you a best experience with laptop. I think like me, I choose to do the traditional computing by navigating my desktop screen with mouse and tap on my keyboard.
