By now you've heard about Intel® Wireless Display1, but did you know that earlier this year Intel updated this technology with some new features?

In this article we'll review:

• Features and benefits of Intel® Wireless Display 2.0

• Enhancements provided by the newest Intel® Wireless Display

• Comparisons between content streaming (using WiFi) and display streaming (Intel® Wireless Display)

• Future enhancements to Intel® Wireless Display

Content On More Screens

When you help your customers find a laptop featuring Intel® Wireless Display, they can enjoy their favorite movies, videos, photos, and online shows in full HD on their TV with great image clarity and sound.

Tell them there's no need to crowd around a laptop screen. Say: "With Intel® Wireless Display, you can view and share content from your laptop’s hard disk and Websites—right on the largest screen in your house!"

Be sure to give customers some examples to help them understand what they can stream, such as:

• Full HD (1080p) video2

• Online family photo albums and slideshows

• Their digital music collection

• Internet TV (in standard or full-screen mode)

• Favorite online TV shows and movies

• Content from their hard disk, such as home movies and photos

Using Intel ® Wireless Display

Emphasize to your customers how easy it is to use Intel® Wireless Display 2.0. All they need to do is connect an adapter to their TV, follow a few simple steps, and they're up and running. They'll only need to set it up one time! And, sharing their screen is as easy as pushing a button when they download the Intel® Wireless Display widget from Intel.com.

Intel® Wireless Display 2.0 is available on select laptops or all-in-one PCs with 2nd generation Intel® Core processors. Customers will also need an adapter designed for Intel® Wireless Display 2.0. Currently, three are available for them to choose from:

• Belkin ScreenCast* TV Adapter

• Netgear Push2TV* HD Adapter

• D-Link DHD-131* TV Adapter

Intel® Wireless Display 2.0

Earlier this year, Intel updated Intel® Wireless Display with some new features. Now, Intel® Wireless Display 2.0 supports wireless streaming playback of High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) content. This includes Intel® Insider™ content, and DVD and Blu-ray* movies at up to 1080p. Before this update, customers could only use Intel® Wireless Display to play free content from streaming video sites or videos stored on their hard drive. In addition, Intel® Wireless Display 2.0 provides improved audio support.
