A rumor before about this ("ASUS FonePad Reviews and Overviews, Intel-powered 7-inch Asus Tablet or Android phablet") but today comes in reality, the ASUS corporation officially announced their new product line-up for this year, the ASUS FonePad. This beautifully crafted and well engineer mobile computing device is an upgrade of their existing Nexus 7 in the sense that you can make calls and send text messages with it.
Performance
ASUS FonePad comes with an Android 4.1 or Jelly Bean Operating platform and surprissingly using Intel’s latest mobile Atom processors a single-core 1.2GHz Intel Atom Z2420 that supports HyperThreading so in effect, it virtually gets two cores. It also uses the PowerVR SGX540 GPU along with 1GB RAM and 16GB internal storage with option for a microSD up to 32 GB and up. Asus FonePad I think runs like PC using android, that was cool and impressive.
Display and Resolution
The ASUS FonePad featuring 7-inch display monitor with a screen resolution of 1,280 x 800 IPS display plus a smooth metal back in silver or gold colors, a different take from the Nexus 7’s designs.
Camera
For taking picture anytime and anywhere, ASUS FonePad comes with a 3-megapixel rear camera which can record 720p HD videos and a 1.2 megapixel front one for video calls and video conference.

Unlike it's predecessor the ASUS Nexus 7 with 3G, FonePad from ASUS has full telephony support along with HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access) a mobile data speeds. Enhancements include a built-in noise-canceling digital microphone and speakers powered by ASUS SonicMaster audio technology.
ASUS FonePad Battery
Asus FonePad is packs with a 4,270 mAh battery which can to go up to nine hours that was according to its manufacturer, close to what you can get from the iPad of Apple computers.
