How To install drivers and other optional updates


To install optional updates, you need to review and then select them from the list of updates that Windows finds for your computer. Optional updates are not installed automatically.

Click to open Windows Update.

In the left pane, click Check for updates, and then wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer.

If you see a message telling you that optional updates are available, or telling you to review optional updates, click the message to view and select the optional updates to install.

In the list, click the optional updates to see more information about the update. Select the check boxes for any optional updates that you want to install, and then click OK.

Click Install updates.

Read and accept the license terms, and then click Finish if the update requires it.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
