CARE OF BRACES - What to expect in the next 2-3 days


Because your braces are new they will feel strange. Your teeth will feel sore because they have been pounded on and because orthodontic forces are working on them. This “funny” feeling and soreness will wear away in 2-3 days. If necessary, take an aspirin tablet. Analgesic for pain.

The inner lining of your lips and cheeks and your tongue will rub against the braces. This may cause one or two sores- very similar to a cold sore. You are advice to use ortho wax to stick on the facial area of your brackets to avoid mouth sores.
